From the publisher: This book, a resource for educators in all stages of academic careers, was created with the idea of supporting the transition of nurses moving from practice environments to academia. It aims to present a comprehensive view of the role of the nurse in education and in the teaching and learning of nursing students. It covers a breadth of concepts including philosophy, learning theories, course and curriculum development, and assessment and evaluation techniques. Each chapter has clear learning outcomes, with a focus on theory and practice, that recognizes the specific niche of nursing educator knowledge and expertise. The Role of the Nurse Educator in Canada was a truly pan-Canadian effort that includes contributions from 18 nurse educators across the country.
