The Alzheimer Society has awarded a $5,000 grant to PhD student Marie-Lee Yous. Her research study will look at adapting and evaluating a program to support caregivers of older adults living with dementia at home.

“I am truly honoured to have been selected to receive a research grant from the Alzheimer Society of Brant, Haldimand Norfolk, Hamilton and Halton,” says Yous. “This grant will provide me with excellent research support and help me connect with caregivers of people living with dementia in the local community. I am thrilled to start working with the Alzheimer Society to implement my research.”

Yous works as a registered nurse in long term care and is a research trainee at the Aging, Community and Health Research Unit (ACHRU). She is also a volunteer at her local Alzheimer Society.
