Ontario nursing schools are seeing an increase in applicants during the pandemic

Nursing schools in the province are seeing a huge uptick in applications, with interest driven, in part, by the pandemic. It comes at a moment when the province is facing a dire shortage of nurses  ….  

….. McMaster University—where applications to its four-year nursing program are up about 20 per cent—incorporates simulation technology in its curriculum. But that’s not a substitute for direct patient care, stresses Dr. Joanna Pierazzo, assistant dean of the school’s undergraduate nursing programs.
