New funding for youth homelessness project

Jun 19, 2019

Naomi Thulien

Dr. Naomi Thulien has been awarded an additional $150,000 in funding for her Transitioning Youth Out of Homelessness research project. The additional funds come from a benefit breakfast event hosted by St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation for the MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions.

Thulien, an assistant professor at the McMaster School of Nursing, discussed the study she leads at MAP, which will measure the effects of helping young people who have experienced homelessness with rent subsidies and mentors over two years. The young people are from Hamilton, St. Catharines, and Toronto.
