Jasprit Pannag was one of five recipients of the Dean's Award for Excellence in Communicating Graduate Research. “It is such a privilege to have received this award after presenting my thesis work on implantable cardioverter defibrillator patient education,” says Pannag. In March, she won 5th place out of 82 competitors and took home a $500 prize for her inspiring performance. Her supervisor is Dr. Sandra Carroll.

Emily Belita won the Mary Keyes Award for Outstanding Leadership and Service to McMaster. ““I’m so grateful to have been nominated by my supervisor Dr. Maureen Dobbins,” Belita says. “This was in recognition of the different contributions I have been able to make to the McMaster community through leadership and mentoring opportunities in nursing research and education. Currently, I am working with a School of Nursing curriculum committee as a MacPherson student partner. I am also a mentor in the McMaster MentorMatch program, and through my doctoral research, have been able to train and mentor other graduate students.”
