Clinical faculty members win HHS awards for excellence
Christine Probst and Jennifer Callen, two School of Nursing clinical faculty members, won Nursing Excellence Awards at Hamilton Health Sciences this year.
The honours were awarded at a Nursing Week Celebration & Awards Dinner at Winona Vine Estates on May 10.
Jennifer Callen won the Mentorship Award and Christine Probst won the Innovation & Quality Award.
“The awards dinner was inspiring,” says Dr. Ruth Chen, Assistant Dean, Academic Resources & Department Education Coordinator for the School of Nursing, who is in charge of hiring part time instructors and facilitating clinical faculty appointments for the School. “It was wonderful to see so many of Chris and Jennifer’s colleagues come to support them, and to hear excerpts of the nomination letters from the many people who wrote letters of support. Both are doing great and important work at HHS. They make an important contribution to student learning and we’re honoured to have them as SON clinical faculty members.”
