Vanessa Cavalieri

Bio

Vanessa Cavalieri began her teaching career as a Part-Time Sessional Instructor, and joined the School of Nursing full time as an Assistant Professor in 2021.

Honours

  • McMaster Student Union Teaching Award – Top Instructor Nominee – February 2021
  • McMaster Student Union Teaching Award – Nominee – February 2020
  • Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing [CASN] Nursing Education Excellence Award – Nominee – June 2019

Research

Vanessa Cavalieri's primary research interests include inclusivity and allyship in education, role modelling as a teaching/learning methodology, and strategies to facilitate student engagement through innovation and experiential learning.  

Courses

Vanessa Cavalieri has taught in all levels and streams of the BScN Program, and is experienced in both Problem-Based Learning courses as well as Professional Practice (clinical), in both the Simulation Lab and hospital setting.
