Dr Basanti Majumdar is a retired faculty member and Professor emeritus. She joined McMaster School of Nursing in 1971 as Assistant Professor. She held the position of a tenured Full Professor with the School. She was also an Associate Member of Family Medicine. She is a graduate of McMaster (Class of 1987) and earned a Doctor of Philosophy from Michigan State University. She established courses in international health issues (both at undergraduate and graduate) by providing students an opportunity to complete clinical placements in northern Canada and around the world. Primary health care and HIV/AIDS research allowed her to visit many African and Asian countries. She established Bhaduri Nursing Scholarship - International Experience.
