Study examines McMaster nursing educational scholarship
The School of Nursing at McMaster University has a proud history as an internationally recognized leader in nursing education.
The McMaster Nursing Education Research Unit (NERU) is conducting a study called “70 Years of Nursing Educational Scholarship at McMaster: An Historical Analysis”, which covers scholarship from the school’s inception in 1946 to the present.
To date, we have located over 300 published articles on nursing education written by McMaster nursing faculty. These are currently being analyzed in relation to historical trends in Canadian nursing and nursing education, and in relation to the evolution of educational approaches at McMaster and beyond.
In the near future, key informants will be interviewed about the historical trends.
