Nursing reunion: Class of 1976
The McMaster BScN Class of 1976 gathered together in September.
Thirty former students were able to come together for some or all of the weekend reunion activities.
The reunion was held at White Oaks Conference Resort & Spa in Niagara on the Lake. People attended from BC, Alberta, Manitoba and all parts of Ontario.
The celebration was organized by Jocelyn LeBlanc with able assistance from Rhona Panton (planning), Cathy Coss (alumni connections) and Ann Vallentin (Alumni package pick-up).
The group has stayed in contact over the years and held five formal reunions with many smaller gatherings.
The reunion included evening get together for informal chats and connecting and a lovely dinner. Smaller groups connected during the day for wine tours, shopping and relaxation.
Before arriving, several people said they they were concerned that it would be hard to make connections after all this time. Instead they enjoyed how easy it was to slip into conversation and reconnect – even after 40 years!
The group even suggested meeting a little sooner – perhaps in 2-3 years instead of 5 years – time will tell!
“It was fun looking at pictures from when we were in training,” says Jocelyn LeBlanc. “Nursing at MAC was a wonderful foundation that has taken classmates in many different directions.”
