McMaster nursing graduate students took two out of three of the top prizes for the Trainee Poster Awards at last fall’s International Congress on Palliative Care in Montreal.
Pamela Durepos, Masters student, won second place for her poster entitled: Palliative Care Content in Clinical Practice Guidelines for Dementia. Her thesis supervisor is Dr. Sharon Kaasalainen, Associate Professor in the School of Nursing.
Matthew Bui, Masters student, won third place for his poster entitled: Promoting a Palliative Approach in Long-Term Care: Development of Disease-Specific Advance Care Planning Resources. His thesis supervisor is Dr. Pat Strachan, Associate Professor in the School of Nursing.
As Dr. Kaasalainen notes, “It's really quite impressive as this is a huge international conference with well over a hundred student posters.”
