Lynda Bentley Poole wins a 2008 McMaster Student Union (MSU) Teaching Award

Lynda Bentley Poole, winner of a 2008 MSU Teaching Award, joined the School of Nursing as a part-time faculty member in 2002 and teaches in Level 1 PBL. Lynda is a McMaster Nursing alumna who completed her Master of Science at University of Toronto.

Student evaluations for Lynda reflect the reasons she was acknowledged by her students through a nomination for an MSU Teaching Award. Her enthusiasm for nursing, and particularly for her teaching and leadership role in Level 1 is evident to all who interact with her. She brings a positive, informed view of the nursing profession to her teaching role. Lynda encourages her PBL groups to grow in the areas of critical thinking, self-directed learning, and group processes. She is able to draw on her own experiences and provides her students with constructive feedback and support.

The School of Nursing congratulates and thanks Lynda for contributing in such a way to student education as to warrant this highest honour from them
